In the context of Black History Month we will focus on dismantling points of oppression that uphold white supremacy. What is anti-Black racism, and how does it shape our contemporary world? How can an understanding of anti-Black racism help us understand our family histories and the ways communities have been separated and weaponized? Through reconciling with our familial legacies we will gain a clearer sense of how we are connected to and affect each other. We begin to map the terrain of power and vulnerabilities that we embody and express.
Explore how anti-Blackness impacts all of our lives. We use our lineage as the site to recognize and reconcile theharms we have perpetuated and experienced to detangle ourselves from the web of anti-Blackness and through our stories weave a tapestry of mutual struggle.
Theatre artist and activist Nicole Pearson invites you to this collaborative experience.
