Über die Veranstaltung

What happens when we give ourselves permission to be playful, laugh a little louder and do things differently?

Join Sheetal Agarwal, founder of Clownselors Foundation in India, for an intimate and interactive evening exploring laughter, play, connection and the courage to choose an unconventional path.

Sheetal will share stories from her journey of building a movement around therapeutic clowning and bringing laughter into hospitals, care homes, communities and other difficult spaces. But this won’t be a talk where you simply sit and listen. Through simple laughter, movement and playful exercises, we’ll explore what happens when we let go of being “proper”, allow ourselves to be silly, connect with others and make a little more space for ourselves.

No experience needed. No performance expected. Just come as you are. A small, warm evening of stories, laughter, play and conversation.

Sheetal Agarwal – Introduction

*Sheetal Agarwal* is the founder of Clownselors Foundation, a pioneering Indian organisation working in therapeutic and medical clowning. In 2016, after coming across the idea of medical clowning almost by chance, Sheetal left her academic career and began experimenting with something that was still largely unknown in India: bringing laughter, play and human connection into hospitals. What started with one hospital and a handful of volunteers has grown into a decade-long movement across India, with Clownselors now working with hospitals, cancer centres, care homes, communities, prisons, army and other spaces where people are going through difficult or uncertain times.

Sheetal has a background in Sociology and Social Anthropology and spent nearly eight years teaching before choosing this unconventional path. She has trained more than 900 volunteers and has personally worked with people across very different communities and circumstances. For Sheetal, therapeutic clowning is not about entertainment or making people laugh on command. It is about creating moments of connection, bringing care back into healthcare, and using play to make difficult spaces a little more human.

Alongside her work with Clownselors, Sheetal speaks and facilitates conversations around care, vulnerability, play, women's experiences and the courage to choose a path that doesn't always look like the obvious one.

A participation fee of two euros is requested.
