Über die Veranstaltung

One year ago, PIKPA camp, run by the Lesbos Solidarity Collective, was evicted by officials. PIKPA was a camp for vulnerable refugees: people with medical conditions, with disabilities, LGTBQIA+ and/or lone women with children. The camp was self-organized, it was run by the volunteers and the residents who stayed there. They worked together as a community – but all residents were relocated to Moria II. The struggle for dignified accomodation continues.

The 10th of December is the International Day For Human Rights - Frauenkreise is organizing a talk of Lesbos Solidarity Volunteers and refugee women* from the PIKPA camp with self organized refugee women* in Berlin to exchange experiences with political self organization. We get first hand information about the situation in Lesbos and about what can be done in support.

The talk features Efi Latsoudi & Stella Balouka (Lesbos Solidarity); former PIKPA residents; Njeri Kamau (IWS, Berlin); we invite also residents of camps everywhere to join the exchange.
