Über die Veranstaltung
My name is Taniesha Morris. I was born in King City, California, USA. I am a self-taught artist who began my art journey at a young age and began it with drawing. Over the years I got into painting and photography. Photography has been a major way that I express myself and is a form of self-therapy. With photography I can not only be honest with myself but be honest with others. I have shown my culture, pain, joy, and more throughout my work, and have done so unapologetically. As an artist, it is important to me to create art in as raw a form as possible. Creating in this way, makes me feel more alive. More worthy.
“The Mirror of Flesreh” was inspired by events and people in my life, to include my children. A poem in the form of photographs. I created this poem to show myself in the purest form. Thoughts that have gone through my head, things I have gone through, and those who have impacted my life can all be seen in these photos because they are the pieces that have made me who I am. This is my understanding and accepting myself.
