Über die Veranstaltung
We're hosting a discussion with descendants of the survivors of the genocide of Nama & Ovaherero. Our panelists are:
- Doris Roos (Nama Traditional Leaders Association, activist, social worker)
- Evelyn Mswetsa (representative of the Ovaherero Genocide Foundation in exile)
- Jocelyn Ortmann (activist)
A few weeks ago, Annalena-Baerbock announced in front of the press that foreign policy would be feminist from now on. We will discuss this announcement of the German foreign minister with representatives of the Nama and Ovaherero organisations of the descendants of the survivors of the genocide in Namibia, who have long been fighting in vain for reparations.
They rightly say: Women* were victims of particularly cruel violence during German colonial rule and the historical trauma and its impact on gender relations in the present affects women* in a special way. So if Annalena Baerbock wants to do something really feminist, she should bring about serious recognition and adequate reparations. UN rapporteurs have just admonished Germany once again because the agreement on this matter, which was
concluded between the German and Namibian governments, completely by passed the descendants of the survivors.
